Why Train at True North Yoga?
True North Yoga has been honored as Boise’s “Best of Boise” since 2021, but our greatest privilege has always been witnessing what happens when people commit to practice.
Over time, we have watched students become steadier, more compassionate, more courageous, and more connected to themselves and others. We have seen people navigate grief, career changes, parenthood, illness, retirement, and new beginnings. We’ve watched them discover strengths they didn’t know they possessed and trust themselves in ways they never had before.
Our teacher trainings are an extension of that work.
Many people arrive believing teacher training is only for those who want to teach yoga. While some graduates go on to lead classes and build meaningful careers, many join simply because they want to deepen their understanding of yoga and themselves. They are navigating transitions, seeking clarity, healing from burnout, longing for community, or feeling called toward something they cannot quite name.
Our programs honor all of those reasons.
At True North, we know the world can be a tough place, and the mind can be a challenging neighborhood to live in. Yoga offers another way. Through practice, we learn how to respond rather than react, to trust ourselves more deeply, and to meet life with greater steadiness and compassion.
Our trainings support growth on every level: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
Rooted in the wisdom of traditional yoga and informed by modern understanding of anatomy, nervous system health, and human behavior, our programs invite you into a rich and immersive learning experience. You’ll explore movement, meditation, philosophy, breathwork, self-inquiry, and practical teaching skills—not simply as concepts to memorize, but as practices to embody.
Our trainings are grounded in the same mirror-free, non-competitive philosophy that shapes our studio culture. We believe learning happens best in environments where people feel safe to ask questions, try something new, make mistakes, and discover their own authentic voice.
You do not need to be the most flexible person in the room.
You do not need years of experience.
You do not even need to know whether you want to teach.
You only need curiosity and a willingness to begin.
Our students include healthcare professionals, parents, business owners, therapists, retirees, college students, athletes, and longtime practitioners. Some discover a passion for teaching. Others simply become more grounded partners, leaders, parents, and human beings.
Along the way, you’ll become part of a supportive and inclusive community. The relationships formed during training often become one of the most unexpected gifts of the experience. You will be challenged, encouraged, celebrated, and deeply seen.

Praise for True North Yoga Teacher Training Programs
I had the amazing pleasure of meeting Naomi as a lead trainer in my 200 and 300 hour teacher training. I loved how approachable and encouraging she was throughout my training. She was so encouraging to all the students and has a unique way of pulling out each individual’s strengths to help them find their personal yoga pathway. She is a true blessing to any yoga community.

When I began my yoga teacher training, I had no intention of teaching. I really just wanted to deepen my personal yoga practice. Naomi changed my mind about teaching. As a great mentor and guide, she has the ability to see the possibilities and help students reach their ultimate potential. Naomi weaves her vast knowledge of asana, yoga philosophy, breathwork and meditation into all her teachings. She cultivates a community of trust and gratitude. So grateful to Naomi for all her support as I continue along my journey.

I am honored to have been a student of Naomi’s while obtaining my 200 hour YTT certification, as well as a Restorative Yoga certification. Naomi has an incredible way of sharing her vast yoga knowledge with humility and humor. Always welcoming, Naomi exudes warmth and comfort to all who attend a class or training with her. Naomi is one of those rare individuals who instantly puts you at ease with her down-to-earth spirit and ability to make connections with all of whom she encounters.

Naomi is FIRE! She brings such an electric energy to her classes and teachings which I find very refreshing. She knows her stuff and I always learn something while I’m with her. She holds space for others and is a mentor to lean on throughout the entire yoga training and even after the program is over. She is an inspiration and I am so grateful she offers her wisdom to the community.

Naomi shares her passion for people as well as her deep appreciation for the whole- person yoga practice. Under her example, I began to experience yoga beyond the asana, beyond the ego. Her mentorship continues to facilitate relationships with other students/teachers of yoga even after the training period & time together in the studio. She is the real deal- inspiring, connected, vibrant.

Naomi has been a guiding light in my yoga journey and life beyond. I was immediately intrigued by her passionate devotion to the practice and how this had deeply affected her emotional and spiritual life. This connection is apparent in her asana classes, where she weaves her story in movement with humor and vulnerability. As a mentor, Naomi helped me to see past my own blockages and limiting beliefs. Her honest observations and creative vision helped me to manifest the life she saw was possible for me that I was not yet willing to see for myself. Thank you for being the teacher that you are.

As a long-time student of yoga, Naomi was a guiding light in my journey to the next level. Under Naomi’s personalized mentorship, I completed the 220-hr yoga teacher training. Her success in mentoring and community building comes from years of experience, book knowledge, practical application, and ethical leadership. I would highly recommend her as a teacher and mentor, or to organizations offering client education and wellness programs

Naomi was one of my primary teachers through the course of my 200-hour yoga teacher training. It was such a joy learning about yoga from someone who is so knowledgeable and so clearly passionate about teaching. She was so supportive of me in my time learning with her, and I so appreciated how humble and relatable she was. I never felt like I couldn’t ask questions, or be myself around her. A truly gifted teacher.

If you are wanting to deepen your yoga practice or hone in on your teaching abilities, look no further. You are in excellent hands with Naomi. She will not only open your mind to yoga philosophy, but she provides an educational, nurturing and safe environment with no ego. All her lessons are taught with the highest integrity and reverence. I recommend Naomi wholeheartedly.

I can say with full certainty that Naomi truly helped shape me into the woman I am today. When I doubted myself as a student, she reminded me that yoga is my own practice and it will be here for me whenever I need it. Years later when I doubted myself as a teacher, she reminded me to show up authentically as I am and I will be accepted. I wish words could explain the deep appreciation I have for her mentorship and friendship. My life has more meaning and more happiness since Naomi entered and I know I’m not the only one who can say that.

Naomi was an exceptional mentor during my yoga teacher training program. She was devoted to learning about my unique passions and interests, and in helping me make them a reality. I remember starting a mentoring meeting by discussing my dedication to adolescent wellbeing, and walking out with a plan to bring yoga to teens in the community. Naomi does a fantastic job of balancing organization and structure with genuine warmth and support. My many, many thanks go out to her!

Naomi is truly one of the most genuine people I have ever met. Anytime I needed help with mentoring(or anything really), she would make time to help me. I feel honored to know such a huge hearted, kind, and knowledgeable soul. She’s one of the good ones.
